The International Trail Running Association (ITRA) represents all parties involved in trail running (i.e., runners and race organizers). ITRA is a non-profit organization committed to advancing the sport of trail running worldwide, including promoting the values of the trail running community, diversity, race safety, and runner health. ITRA maintains a constructive dialog among national and international bodies interested in the sport of trail running. ITRA was founded in July 2013 and is now based in Switzerland.
ITRA manages the ITRA Performance IndexThe ITRA Performance Index (PI) is a tool for evaluating trail runners. It's based on a runner's speed More (a runner’s individual score) and awards ITRA PointsITRA Points are awarded for finishing a race. Each person who finishes a particular race receives the same More for race finishes (all runners).
Through its website, ITRA offers a range of services for runners and organizers.
